DI Boxes
A DI Box (or Direct Injection) is used to connect unbalanced signals to balanced inputs. By balancing the signal close to the source, this reduces the chance of noise or interference being picked up on the cable, especially for long runs (over 2M). DI boxes can also be used to connect equipment such as laptops and computers to mixers without getting ground loop hum.
